Well, hello there! Welcome to my corner of the internet where we explore life well-lived. We live and learn here.
I’m Melissa, a 40-something executive turned creative entrepreneur. I’ve spent much of my life living in my head on the logical, orderly and analytical left side of my brain. All the while, the creative, artistic right side of my brain has been fighting for its place in the world.
I’ve served in executive leadership roles for the majority of my career. With a degree in accounting and a MBA, by training I’m a business person. I’m making a major life pivot to enter the world of online entrepreneurship where I can focus on my passions and creative energy.
I’ve longed for days filled with creative writing and the things I’m most passionate about. I’ve decided to give myself the freedom to pursue a completely new path.
I’m now a publisher of the online Live Each Day publication and a personal development and business coach who teaches busy, ambitious people how to live a more fulfilling life by pursuing their passions, dreams, and goals. I help women rediscover who they are and chart a new path toward greater joy and fulfillment.
I’m a mother to 3 beautiful kids who offer me diverse lenses through which to view this world. These incredible humans might possibly teach me more about life than I teach them.
I’m fully dedicated to figuring out how to live this wild and crazy life in a meaningful way, and to help you do the same. In the words of late American poet Mary Oliver,

~ I’m a fierce foodie, a wine enthusiast, and an avid reader. Give me a good book, a hot cup of jo, a cozy blanket and I couldn’t be happier.
~ I have a passion for cooking and believe that preparing healthy meals for your family is an expression of love to be plated and savored.
~ Writing frees my soul and I’ve longed for a career that allows me to fill my days with creative writing.
~ After an art class with my daughter, I developed a love for painting with watercolors. My creative, right brain is fighting for its place in this world.
~ I love all things nature – kayaking, gardening, camping, hiking. The answer to almost any of life’s hardest questions can be found in the calmness of the water or the peace of nature.
~ I’m a lifelong learner, INTJ, Enneagram 5, Objective Thinker, and a Futuristic Visionary. If you know, you know. I see you, all my personal development peeps.
~ My 3 kids play a ton of sports. You will find me driving halfway across the state each day to ensure I don’t miss a game.
~ I was a Chief Financial Officer in my early career and helped save a small community hospital from closing. I was highly underqualified for the role at the time, but it was offered to me based solely on my integrity. With grit, determination, and a solid team, we pulled off a financial turnaround.
~ By giving myself the time, space, and freedom to explore my passions, I’ve completely rediscovered who I was before the world got to me. I’ve made it my mission to help other women do the same.

we all have a story - here is part of mine
SAVED A HOSPITAL FROM CLOSING
In 2000 at the age of 21, I graduated with a Bachelor's Degree in business and accounting and accepted a job as a CFO straight out of college. The hospital was days from closure. With the help of a great team, we pulled off a complete financial turnaround. I worked around the clock for 3 years and learned a whole lot about leadership and what I have within me to make bold goals a reality.
STARTED MY JOB AT A PROMINENT CANCER CENTER
Proudly joined the leadership team at an esteemed comprehensive cancer center. Held several executive roles over many years, all with the mission to lead and serve those who take care of cancer patients.
GOT MARRIED
Married my best friend and made plans to build our home and a family. We were just a couple of small town kids with big dreams and goals and a willingness to work really hard to achieve them.
BUILT THE FOUNDATION OF OUR LIFE
Designed and built our dream home with our own hands. Literally.
WELCOMED OUR FIRST CHILD
After struggling with infertility for 3 years, we welcomed our first child into the world and moved into our new home. I had prayed for this for years.
PURSUED MY EXECUTIVE MBA
With a toddler in tow, and surprisingly a second baby on the way, I pursued my MBA through an executive MBA program, taking 5 classes at a time for almost 2 years while still working full-time as an executive at the cancer center. Graduating in May 2011, I earned my MBA with a 3-year old and a newborn.
OUR DAUGHTER WAS BORN
She earned her MBA right along with me in my belly. She even traveled in utero to Sweden to complete my international residency requirement so I could graduate on time. She was born in March and I graduated in May!
THEN THERE WERE 3
We completed our family when we welcomed our charming wild third child into the world.
I FIRST HAD THE VISION FOR LIVE EACH DAY
I began dreaming of starting my own business and started developing the vision for Live Each Day. I purchased the liveeachday.com domain name, with hopes and dreams of turning my vision into a reality.
FOCUSED ON FAMILY & DEEP SELF DISCOVERY
While busy focusing on family, I sat on my vision for Live Each Day for far too long. The tech struggles associated with start-up, combined with the challenges of managing a full-time career, a young family of littles, daily responsibilities, along with some personal struggles - when all combined - was too much. I didn't have the mental or emotional bandwidth to start my business. Let's just say - life got hard.
LAUNCHED THE LIVE EACH DAY BLOG
The fog of raising littles began to lift. I decided I wasn't putting my business dreams on the back burner any longer. I took action and hired someone to help me create the first version of my website. Taking action brought clarity to my vision for the Live Each Day brand and what I wanted it to become. I started to write and use creative expression to feel my own humanity again.
LAUNCHED MY BUSINESS COACHING PROGRAM
After blogging for a couple of years, and learning all about online business, marketing funnels, SEO, and dozens of other essential online business strategies and tactics, I created the exact online business blueprint I wish I had when launching Live Each Day. I launched my business course and coaching program - Passion to Plan - with my Founding Members, making it my mission to help other women execute on their business idea faster so they could turn their passion into a strategic online business.
2024 WAS A YEAR OF GROWTH - BOTH PERSONAL & BUSINESS
The Live Each day blog publication is growing, getting over 25,000 pageviews per year and increasing each month!
I live launched the Passion to Plan business coaching program in October.
The Live Each Day online store will be launching in early 2025!
2025 IS SURE TO BE AN EXCITING YEAR!
I'm launching an online business education community in January 2025 called Launch & Scale with Passion.
I'll be launching a 10-week coaching program called Clarify & Validate to help aspiring entrepreneurs get clear on their online business idea and validate it in the market.
The Live Each Day online store will be launching in early 2025!
Stay tuned - my podcast might possibly be in your ear buds by late 2025.
